Open letter to Pope Benedict XVI

Her Holiness,

an Italian proverb says: "play with the Knight-the card- but not with the Saint (gioca coi fanti ma lascia stare i fanti)".

There are moments in people's lives in which it's much better thinking before talking.

Between the two of us, what was your problem this time?

Initially you tried to cover up the pedophile priest in North America using the gays as scapegoats.

Then you attacked the feminism and the stem cells.

But now you probably understood that after 9/11 if you want to be listen in the Christian world (outside the Vatican and Italy where 90% of the population is Catholic) you have only two possibilities:






POSSIBILITY # 1

• Use the real Christian model of love and tolerance (Mother Theresa, Padre Pio, St. Francis of Assisi)

POSSIBILITY # 2

Put yourself in competition with Baptists and Christian integralists like Pat Robertson showing that Catholicism is a great promoter of the crusades as it was in the Middle Age, going back well before Vatican Council I.

Of course you cannot afford today, in an historical moment in which Presidents behave like Popes, not trying to behave like a President.

You needed to go back to the power of the church on earth masquerade with moral principles.

There is only one little problem. This problem is called: OTHER RELIGIONS.

In the same way you want to be the new "Miss Religion Universe" there are other contestants in the show who wants to win the pageant and they will use any weapon they have to do that even blowing themselves or head butting you (like Zidane with Matarazzi in the final of the Soccer World Cup).

Now there are

a couple of lessons you should learn:

A --- What you said about Mohammed is not fun. Satiric humor doesn't work with God, Allah, Yaveh, Christ, Mohammed, Buddha and tragic events like Holocaust, atomic bombs and Crusades.

1. B --- Satiric humor perfectly works instead with those who try to represent the above mentioned people on earth and most of the time are a tragic fiasco. It works with you as well as with presidents, reverends, rabbies, and muetzins. So don't be so surprised if in the next couple of months someone will come out with TV jokes about you, satiric books about you and tons of cartoons.

Please, leave the Holy War where it was centuries ago and don't forget ..... Holy Wars killed more people than World Wars (see the one Hundred Years War in Europe).

So, at this point let the saints alone but also ... Stop to play cards with the knights. This is not a Las Vegas Casino.
